CoreUI PRO for Vue v6.0.0-alpha.0 - First v6 Alpha

CoreUI PRO for Vue v6.0.0-alpha.0 - First v6 Alpha

We are pleased to announce CoreUI PRO for Vue v6.0.0-alpha.0, the first alpha of v6. It is built on CoreUI PRO v6.0.0-alpha.0, and each component now imports the stylesheet it renders into, so an app ships only the CSS it uses. The API can still change before the release candidate, so pin the exact version and do not use it in production yet. The v6 documentation is published next to the v5 docs.

Speed up your responsive apps and websites with fully-featured, ready-to-use open-source admin panel templates—free to use and built for efficiency.

How to Update

v6 is published under the next tag, so npm install @coreui/vue-pro keeps installing v5. To try the alpha:

  1. Install the exact version:
  2. Change the global stylesheet import (see Migration Notes).
  3. Go through the v6 migration guide before you upgrade a v5 project.

You can also download the latest PRO packages from CoreUI Downloads.

What’s New

Highlights

  • Built on CoreUI PRO 6.0.0-alpha.0: the components render the v6 markup and CSS, so the changes listed for CoreUI PRO v6.0.0-alpha.0 apply here too, including the minimum browsers.
  • Per-component stylesheets: each component imports its own stylesheet from @coreui/coreui-pro, so an app ships only the CSS it uses next to one global base.css.
  • Unstyled entry point: @coreui/vue-pro/unstyled is the same build without those imports, for apps that load coreui.css whole.

Dependency Updates

  • @coreui/coreui-pro is pinned to 6.0.0-alpha.0.
  • @floating-ui/dom ^1.8.0 positions dropdowns, menus, context menus, tooltips, popovers and the popups the pickers open.
  • Peer dependency: vue ^3.5.0.

Migration Notes

v6 is a major release with breaking changes. The first step for every project:

  1. Global stylesheet. Replace the @coreui/coreui-pro/dist/css/coreui.min.css import with import '@coreui/coreui-pro/css/base.css', the base layer with tokens, palette and Reboot. If you would rather keep loading coreui.css whole, import the components from @coreui/vue-pro/unstyled instead.

The full list of breaking changes and what to change is in the v6 migration guide.
