How to Update

Download the latest source from GitHub releases.

After downloading, install dependencies and start the project:

npm install
ng serve

If you are updating an existing customized project, compare your local changes with the latest template files and bring over the parts you need before deploying. Read the note about preserveSymlinks under Migration Notes before you run ng serve -o or ng test.

What’s New

Angular 22.2.0

This release moves CoreUI Free Angular Admin Template from Angular 22.1.7 to Angular 22.2.0. Framework packages, the Angular CLI, and the build tooling all move to 22.2.0 together, and the Angular badge in the README now reads ^22.2.0.

Vitest 5

  • The test runner moves from Vitest 4.1 to Vitest 5 (vitest and @vitest/browser-playwright 5.0.1).
  • No spec files or test configuration changed in this release.

CoreUI Package Refresh

  • Updated bundled CoreUI Angular packages to 5.7.31 for version consistency across the project.
  • Keeps the main package, Chart.js integration, and icons package aligned with the current release of CoreUI for Angular.

Migration Notes

This release moves to a new Angular minor version and a new Vitest major version, so review these points when updating:

  1. Known issue - spawn EBADF in watch mode. This release still ships "preserveSymlinks": true in angular.json. With @angular/build 22.2.0 that option makes ng serve -o (the template’s npm start) fail to open the browser and ng test in watch mode run no tests, both with spawn EBADF. v5.7.32 removes the option. If you stay on v5.7.31, delete the preserveSymlinks line from the build options in angular.json. The cause and the fix are explained in Fixing “Error: spawn EBADF” in Angular 22.2 ng serve and ng test.
  2. If you added your own Vitest configuration or test utilities, check them against Vitest 5 after installing the updated dependencies.
  3. Install updated dependencies, run your test suite, and verify the build.
  4. Compare any template-level customizations with the updated source files before deploying.
