CoreUI PRO v5.28.0 - Time Granularity in the Date Pickers

We are pleased to announce the release of CoreUI PRO v5.28.0 for Bootstrap. The Date Picker and Date Range Picker can now drop minutes and seconds from their time selection. The release also keeps internal fields out of submitted form data, fixes the Calendar, Multi Select, Autocomplete and OTP Input, and includes every fix from CoreUI v5.9.1.

Speed up your responsive apps and websites with fully-featured, ready-to-use open-source admin panel templates—free to use and built for efficiency.

  1. Open your project’s package.json.
  2. Locate the @coreui/coreui-pro entry under dependencies and update the version number to 5.28.0.
  3. Save your changes to the package.json file.
  4. In your project’s root directory, run the update command appropriate for your package manager:

What’s New

Features

  • Date Picker & Date Range Picker: New hours, minutes and seconds options, with the same types and defaults as on the Time Picker. With seconds: false a date reads 6/15/2023, 2:30 PM and parses back in any locale. minutes: false drops seconds as well.

Forms

  • Field names: Multi Select, Autocomplete, Chip Input and Range Slider name their form fields only when the page sets a name. Internal fields are never submitted: the Multi Select search text, the Autocomplete hint and the individual OTP Input slots stay out of the form data, and the OTP Input submits only its hidden input.
  • Multi Select: The combobox and the search field have an accessible name, and the search field is named after what it does.

Bug Fixes

  • Calendar: disabledDates is honored for whole periods, a click on a week row no longer breaks the calendar, and ISO week numbers stay correct for years below 100.
  • Multi Select & Autocomplete: Disabled options and disabled option groups are left out of every selection path, including the keyboard. Autocomplete defaults options to an empty array.
  • OTP Input: A rejected character no longer replaces the digit under it, the paste listener is namespaced, and stale tab indexes are cleared.
  • Date Range Picker & Time Picker: Keyboard navigation works again when the menu sits in a container.
  • Lifecycle: Autocomplete, Date Range Picker and Time Picker put the host element back the way it was on dispose. Range Slider, Date Range Picker, Calendar, Rating, Autocomplete and Multi Select remove all of their listeners and stop deferred callbacks after dispose.
  • Calendar & Dropdown: Removed CSS variables that nothing reads.
  • Build: The JavaScript distribution files carry the PRO license header instead of MIT.

From CoreUI v5.9.1

This release includes all fixes from CoreUI v5.9.1, among them the sanitizer hardening, the Dropdown, Modal, Offcanvas and Sidebar fixes, and aria-pressed on toggle buttons.

Dependency Updates

  • Development dependencies updated to their latest minor and patch versions, including astro 7.3.5, postcss 8.5.28, rollup 4.64.0, sass-embedded 1.105.1 and vitest 4.1.11.

Migration Notes

This release has no breaking changes to the public API, but two behavior changes are worth checking:

  1. Form field names. Components no longer generate a name for their fields. If your server reads a value submitted by a Multi Select, Autocomplete, Chip Input, Range Slider or OTP Input that you never named, set name on the component.
  2. Sanitizer options from markup. sanitize, allowList and sanitizeFn are no longer read from data-coreui-* attributes. Set them in the JavaScript options.
  3. Install updated dependencies, run your test suite and verify the build.
